Our Service Approach

At Portal, Inc we believe that every person is a unique and distinct individual. So we provide a person-centered approach to meet the needs of each person served. Our staff members don't consider themselves caregivers. Rather, they are caring mentors and coaches who empower participants to make decisions and personal choices for themselves while supporting purposeful and meaningful days.

We're respectful, engaging and positive towards our participants. At the same time, we have high expectations of them, and - more often then not - they live up to and exceed those expectations by challenging themselves and taking thoughtful risks.

Being active in the greater community is essential to the services offered. We provide our participants with plenty of opportunities to do so, including employment, service projects and social events. In the process, we create learning moments in their lives every day.

We understand that for many individuals, behaviors are a way of communication. So we take
a proactive, positive, approach to addressing behaviors and supports.
